#6 Timezone in log ignored

Loring Holden

For some reason the timezone in my logs went from -0600 to +0100 and back again. The problem is that since (I think) awstats ignores the time zone, it thinks that the last data it read was 7 hours in the future, and won't process any more of the log file, at least for now. I'm not sure if more of the log file will be processed when the local time is later than what awstats thinks is the last log file entry.

  • AWStats ignore volontarly the timezone value. For this reason, hours reported are relative to web server time.
And when AWStats store the last log line processed, the time is also local time in log (with no timezone).
