    It seems, that the option -d of date and -D of du is not POSIX compliant and therefore not necessarily the same on other systems. I took a look at the script and managed to make it POSIX compliant - aside from bash ... that's not negotiable for the newer version; try 2.5* if you seek something that is or comes close to being executable by any shell. Since I am unsure, if I really got everything, it would be greatly appreciated, if you would test the new version and report back. Since I am in the progress of adding a new differential backup feature and this will take a couple more days, the next beta version will not be released this weekend.
