Well, some people are going to like small buttons, and others will like large buttons. I do think we should offer a "small toolbar" mode which lines up the four tools horizontally and uses tool-sized icons for the five control buttons. I'd be happy to see some mockups with small buttons if you want to draw them... BTW, here's one webpage on Fitts's law, which you should all be familiar with when understanding GUI design: http://www.asktog.com/columns/022DesignedToGiveFitts.html - Dominic > >>One of the things that drives me absolutely nuts about the >>XMMS controls >>is their miniscule size ;) I finally set up xmms-ctrl >>with keybindings >>from my window manager so that I can play/pause/skip etc. >>without hunting >>for the buttons. >> >>Overall, probably just a personal preference call. >> >>-emile >> >> >>>If there is interest in what this might look like, I'd >> >>be >> >>>happy to modify Dominic/Shane's design for smaller >> >>buttons. >> >>>I bring this topic up because it's one of the first >> >>things >> >>>my brother mentioned when he tried Audacity - in his >>>opinion, the buttons were much larger than needed. >>> >>>Logan >>> >>> >>>------------------------------------------------------- >>>This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek >>>Welcome to geek heaven. >>>http://thinkgeek.com/sf >>>_______________________________________________ >>>Audacity-devel mailing list >>>Aud...@li... >>> >> >>https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/audacity-deve >>l >> >> >> >>------------------------------------------------------- >>This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek >>Welcome to geek heaven. >>http://thinkgeek.com/sf >>_______________________________________________ >>Audacity-devel mailing list >>Aud...@li... >>https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/audacity-deve >>l >> > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek > Welcome to geek heaven. > http://thinkgeek.com/sf > _______________________________________________ > Audacity-devel mailing list > Aud...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/audacity-devel |
