Grab the withoutmenu fella here: >> >> http://audacity.homerow.net/cgi-bin/dl?experimental/audacity-macosx-ub-2.1.0 >> -independent-without-menus.zip I like the independent meters. The “non-independent” ones (where changing the orientation of one changed the orientation of the other even if it was docked) are/were crazy. “WTF! I didn’t want the playback meter to go horizontal while it was in the dock!” I like the combined icon/menu. There are a few problems with the meters that are probably not related to the changes specific to this version. Of course, this is with Mac 10.9.4. 1) With the compact recording meter, docked or undocked: - start monitoring - activate the clip indicators - click in the meter to stop monitoring — the clips indicators are not completely cleared: a 1-pixel bar remains — (I think they haven’t been cleared; I think the rectangle with the “start monitoring” message has overlapped them.) - undock the meter - drag it to vertical orientation — the clip bars are now clearly visible, and the blue high-water marks become visible — both should have been cleared when clicking on the meter, no? 2) With the non-compact recording meter: - with the meter undocked, resize it to get the non-compact, horizontal version - click to start monitoring - try activate the clip indicators — they don’t show at all, and the blue high-water marks are hard to see - appear to be 1-pixel wide when they are up against the top of the meter - drag the meter to vertical orientation — the blue high-water marks and the clip indicators show — (actually, only the R-channel blue mark shows due to the bug where vertical meters only show an indication on the R-channel) 3) With the compact recording level meters in horizontal orientation - begin recording - activate the clip indicators - click to clear the clip indicators — can’t be done The playback meter does what it should, except a) in the non-compact horizontal view the clip indicators and blue high-water mark do not show b) in the compact horizontal view the blue high-water marks are hard to see - appear to be 1-pixel wide when they are up against the top of the meter — Bill > > Thanks. > > This build still has the problem that meters (both playback and recording) show an indication in the right channel only when in vertical orientation. > > — Bill > >> >> Leland >> >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> Dive into the World of Parallel Programming!
