This is certainly my desired behavior too - and that is also the behavior that many posters on the forum who are users of late beta 1.3 releases expect too. - they noticed the changes With audio and label track both selected with the same time-line, in all previous versions of 1.3 that I have used up to 1.3.10 and even my ancient copy of 1.2.4.b - both the audio and the label tracks had the appropriate section removed and the labels accordingly slid up the time-line retaining their correct intended position. As Gale points out this functionality is very commonly used in LP and tape transcriptions when the tracks are trimmed after labeling has already been done. I also use it a lot when I am trimming the dross out of recorded radio shows - where the labels perform the function of edit markers - so their ability to move up the time-line on deletion is important in this use-case too. It is only with 1.3.10 and 1.3.11 that this behavior changed - it got corrected in 1.3.12 RC2 and has now regressed on RC3 (and on RC4 Tarball on Linux, I believe from Stevethefiddle's report on the forum) My platform is Windows XP-HE-SP3 Thanks, Peter. I'm not sure precisely what desired behavior is here (I know what we want to do in this one specific situation but that's not enough to code it). I know what *my* desired behavior is: Edit->Delete always shifts labels in selected tracks. It's currently special-cased because traditionally it has not shifted labels, but it would be much more consistent to always shift 'em. Every time that code has flashed across my screen since the beginning of time I've been tempted to change it, but I figured it would piss people off. Technically I'm not sure I'd say the "problem has returned" -- I think the behavior in this specific case changed because of another fix related to this special case. Hm. How about if I don't hear an objection in 24 hours I kill the obnoxious special case, then we do an RC5 (that sounds downright Mozilla-esque -- and we don't even release RCs with specific bugs left outstanding before release). A nice round time for the objection deadline: 0500 30 March 2010 (that's UTC -- it will be 11PM on the 29th here in Wyoming). - Al > Thanks > > > > Gale > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval Try the new software tools for yourself.
