Is there some other > behavior you'd rather have? I'm raising the question, anyway, because usually inserts produce silence in the other track, as you know. We have this to begin with [label in different place to above but irrelevant for this example]: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/repeat_1.png then when we do repeat x 1 on the upper track, we get this: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/repeat_2.png To me that just looks wrong. In previous stages of the work on labels, silence was added to the second track in that scenario to make it the same length as the first. What I would have expected (though of course these things are open to interpretation), is that each track would be 20s long, and each would have a split line at 10s (given we have a policy that repeat adds split lines). > > * Edit > Undo > > * select 5s to 10s in the lower audio track > > * turn linking off, Edit > Delete and turn linking > > back on > > * Click in the Track Panel of upper audio track > > then SHIFT + down arrow to drag the selection > > down to encompass the lower audio track > > * Effect > Repeat > > * In the lower track, presumably we want silence > > not white space, and we lack a split line in the > > lower track? Sorry for the typo, yes the lower track has clips at 0-5s and 10-15s. Before: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/repeat_3.png After: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/repeat_4.png Again, it's the whitespace or silence issue. What would look more logical to me in "After" would be for the lower track to have a split line at 10s to match with that at the top, and to have silence, not whitespace. That means that when you click in the Track Panel of the lower track, you select a track of 20s length, as you do in the upper track. As it is now, clicking in the Track Panel of the lower track gives you a track of 15s, so in that sense, the tracks are not synchronised. If you were to select only the upper (longer) track and repeat that, it looks even more wrong to me: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/repeat_5.png It's the same issue if you paste instead of repeat (I recall you fixed a bug where white space wasn't taken into account when pasting).
