I fixed up the VU meters a little so that they look better on OS X. I also fixed a (cross-platform) bug affecting monitoring stereo sources, and added an additional way to disable it by allowing you to disable the meter toolbar entirely in the Interface preferences. I have tested VU meters on all of my systems in real usage scenarios and I'm pretty happy with them now. I would like to release version 1.2.2 soon. We've added several important new features and fixed some important bugs. I even updated the online help files today to reflect these new features. I propose posting release candidates in the next few days so that we can start getting updated translations. As a reminder, here is the changelog: * VU Meters added for both playback and recording. Click on the recording meter to monitor the input without recording. * Export Multiple - new feature that lets you export multiple files at once, either by track, or split based on labels. * MP3 tags dialog will only pop up the first time you export as MP3; after that it will not pop up again as long as you have filled in at least one tag. * You can now add a label at the current playback position - in the Project menu, with a shortcut of Ctrl+M. * Clicking on a label now selects all of the tracks, making it easier to use the label track to recall selections. * Fixed freeze in Unix/X-Windows caused by captured mouse when audio device hangs. (Audacity may not respond, but it will no longer freeze all of X.) * Fixed cosmetic bug that caused improper waveform display if you tried to open an Audacity project saved on a different platform (e.g., copying a project from a Mac to a PC). * Fixed serious bug that could cause data loss when you save and then load an Audacity project containing repeated or duplicate data. There are several minor unresolved bugs in Bugzilla that should be pretty easy to address; I will take a look at several of these in the next few days. The most important bug that I have no idea about is: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=150 "Recording stops or display wraps after ~50 min." I have not been able to reproduce this one on either Linux or Mac OS X. If anyone can reproduce this and can help with debugging, that would be much appreciated. - Dominic |
