Subject: [Audacity-users] Yahoo Music Juke Box doesn't cooperate with
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
I used Audacity to create a test audio, saved it as MP3, and tried to use
Yahoo Music Juke Box to load it onto my Philips GoGear player. I've loaded
hundreds of podcasts with YMJB the same way. However, for the audio which I
created, YMJB refused to load the file, citing a license violation. This is
my audio! What the heck do I have to do to make it "legitimate"? Is there
some magic with Audacity that I missed?
welcome to the wonderful world of digital rights management.
i found any ittunes or rhapsody etc sh*t will eventually keep you from even
being able to back up YOUR OWN AUDIO FILES YOU ARE THE CREATOR/COMPOSER OF.
my advice is to use one machine for only music, and the other for stuff like
net, ipods etc.
this is a very real problem, and likely to get worse...
i discovered it years ago when rhapsody ( pre installed on my pc) wouldn;t
let me copy or move any of my own freekin' songs....
just my experience, your mileage may vary.
