Subject: [Audacity-users] Input Selector
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
I am using a MobilePre USB external sound card with Audacity as my recording
device. I have used this quite successfully for some time on my XP desktop,
but now I'm trying to use it with a laptop (running Vista, for which I have
installed the new driver) and now the Input Selector drop-down menu is
greyed-out, and I cannot record anything. This is true whether I select the
MobilePre as my input device, or the sound card installed in the laptop. I
have tested my setup using the Windows sound recorder, and it works fine,
but I need to be able to use Audacity!
I need to be able to record away from home - it's an emergency!!
appears vista does not allow the proper drivers to load anymore...
if it worked fine before, and stopped after vista, vista is to blame.
most likely , the soundcard manufacturers haven't qwritten a proper 64 bit
driver, so vcista is using what IT feels is compatible.
good luck, man...
