I want to record my Blue Snowball microphone (usb) and my Mac’s line-in input, so I can record my voice and the sound from a device I am demonstrating at the same time. To that end I created an aggregate device, but Audacity only captures the input from the line-in port (first in the list) when I record. I am not sure if the microphone is being heard but not recorded, as Audacity is the only recorder I have. I know the mic works, though, because dictation works and I am able to record if I choose the mic instead of the aggregate device in Audacity’s settings. I am on OS10.9, but this setup never worked in OS10.8 either. Is it something in Audacity, or the Mac? If I can’t fix this, is there any way to simultaneously record both input sources so I’d end up with one track from each? Thanks in advance for any help on this - I want to record podcasts helping people use the screen reader on the iPhone and Mac, but I can’t get good sound from the machines unless I can work out how to record my line-in jack alongside my Snowball.
Have a great day,
Alex (msg sent from Mac Mini)
