Audacity is my favorite editing application, but it runs so much
better under Linux distributions than Mac OS X. I believe this has
something to do with its performance in Aqua, and I'd like to try
running Audacity in the X windowing system on my Apple hardware. For
this reason, I've been attempting to compile and install Audacity on
Apple's Darwin distribution, but so far have failed in my efforts.=20
Does anyone know if this is possible, or even likely to work?
Here's more info: I've installed Ubuntu (Linux) on this same hardware
and found Audacity to run superbly on it. So it appears that Audacity
runs much better on Linux systems, and I'm hoping to have the same
result on Apple's Darwin.
Thanks ahead for your help!
