Just found an interesting funny after compiling the release candidate.
It started out again with a problem I described with the last beta where on=
starting to record, the cursor stays at the beginning of the spectogram are=
flashing but not moving. If I click on the stop button, the mouse no longer=
allows me to select any other window (fortunately I can use <alt/tab> then =
<control/C>) - this is a Mandrake 9.2 system running OSS.
I've managed to tie this problem down to the fact that although the right=20
version of Audacity's starting (the one place in /usr/local/bin) it's tryin=
to pick up other files from where the original (/usr/bin) version of Audaci=
The fix was to export an AUDACITY_PATH variable containing:

Would it be worth Audacity defaulting to the directories that were set up b=
the configure script? It appears that at the moment it's got its own defaul=
that aren't affected by where it's going to be installed.
I can tell you I'm glad to have fixed this; the thought of not being able t=
use Audacity was too awful to contemplate, I've got so reliant on it.
