( copy of this is included in the manual pack )
Matt will receive the pack, which will be placed on the Audacity site in a few
There is also document that lists a number of things that help you.
Find it at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/translation/translations.html
(if Matt doesn't change that name :)
The columns in this table show you :
a) the Filename
b) is the file ready for translation ? GREEN - yes , RED - no
c-f) '-' documents not yet translated
!!! rember to check on the mailing list if someone is working on this
'*' document translated
Right now we have four languages in the table:
RU - Russian
FR - French
ES - Spanish
DE - German
Any more ?
For keeping the languages later on, we might resort to subdirectories such as
ru,fr,es and de.The idea is to have a directory for each language.
Of course ALL the image links and the style sheet link in each document is
broken as a result.
This is easy to remedy. The HTML files are copied language directory.
Then a SEARCH/REPLACE is run across the files that does the following:
<img border=0 src="images/ -> <img border=0 src="../images/
<link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="audacity.css">
-> <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="../audacity.css">
Every selfrespecting editor in the galaxy has a search and replace function.
Don't worry about this now. I will handle this myself.
The advantage will be, that this way we don't have to change any filenames.
Please get back to me on any questions you have about the docs.
Any comments, suggestions and wishlists are welcome too, so don't
hold them back.
