Subject [Audacity-translation] reference guide in Brazilian Portuguese(pt_BR)
> I wonder if theres anyone already translating the reference guide of
> Audacity to Brazilian Portuguese(pt_BR) ???
There isn't any point translating online documentation for Audacity 1.2
at this stage, because we are hoping to release a new stable 1.4 version
later this year (based on the current 1.3 Beta line), and we have
already started draft online documentation for it here:
So if any of you on this list have time to translate Audacity documentation,
that is what you should translate.
There probably won't be any message catalogue system to do this. Instead,
translators would obtain accounts on the Manual Wiki (these are required to
edit), then for Manual pages which are already complete or nearly so:
* select and copy the contents from the editing window
* paste it into a new page which has the same title, but with
the appropriate internationalisation suffix
* translate that new page
A volunteer started to do this in Italian a while ago, for example,
although he is not actively translating at the moment.
If anyone can help, please contact me off list and I will create an account
on the Manual Wiki for you (account creation by users isn't allowed on
this Wiki for obvious reasons). I can direct you to pages which are close
enough to "complete" to be worth translating.
