I saw a note that when a Nyquist plugin is cancelled in Audacity 1.3.6, it sometimes crashes Audacity. I've seen that in 1.3.5, also, but yesterday I was running Silence Finder on a ~90-minute project. When it came up in 1.3.6, it seemingly got stuck calculating the progress total -- it was up to about 37 hours expected to completion when I canceled it. Then I opened the same project in 1.3.5, started Silence Finder, and it calculated ~5 minutes to completion and did complete it in that time. - Vaughan |

I can replicate the weird progress calculation in 1.3.6 on a similar length project with all three Nyquist plug-ins I tried (Silence Finder, Vocal Remover, High Pass). For me though, having got to 50 hours expected after three minutes' running (no progress squares visible), it suddenly completes satisfactorily after a few seconds' busy icon. 1.3.5 completes in three minutes too with these plug-ins but more or less predicting the progress satisfactorily. I can't get swapping out on my setup (1 GB memory). 1.3.5 and 1.3.6 share the same problem with those plug-ins that if you cancel, the audio that was not processed is deleted, so you have to undo. Did you notice that when you cancelled Silence Finder, Vaughan? . Built-in plug-ins I tried are fine in 1.3.6. Gale |
