I am using windows xp and I just down loaded the new version of Audicity.
How do I select the correct setting to make This work again?

If you are still having this issue, is this the device you are using, i.e. you are
recording from a mobile phone (or mobile handset) ?
If so, and you were previously using Audacity to record these phone calls,
then you need to do what I said last time, i.e. make sure the "recording
device" in the Audio I/O tab of Audacity Preferences is set explicitly to your
inbuilt sound device, and not to "Microsoft SoundMapper". I think you would
want to connect the 1/8 inch output plug on the wireless controller to the
microphone (red) port on the computer, and set the input source on Audacity's
Mixer Toolbar to "mic", because if you have the equipment above, it sends a
microphone-level signal through its output cable. Using the "phone line" input
does not normally work as usually that input is not physically connected to the
Outbound message virus free.
