hi iam just trying to break up one big mp3 file and make smaller tracks to
burn on cd eg. dance tracks . these mixes are 70 to 80 min in lenth and
i am unable to jump around on the cd, i can just fast foward. help me.
Here's the basic idea:
1. Open your mp3 file in Audacity
2. Select one track at a time by deleting everything EXCEPT the
track you want.
3. Select "Export as WAV" and save the WAV file of that track.
4. Undo to get everything else back
5. Now repeat with what you want to be track 2.
You should probably name your files "track1", "track2", etc.
and then burn all of these tracks to a new CD. Your CD
burning software should let you put no space between these
The quality will be better if you save these tracks as WAV
instead of MP3, by the way. It's good to avoid decoding and
re-encoding MP3's a lot.
If the mix really is 70-80 minutes long with no silence
in-between songs, you may have a hard time finding the
breakpoints. One trick is to zoom in and make your
track boundaries right on a second boundary (i.e.
exactly at 9:47), another is to use a Label Track to
mark the track boundaries...
