I noticed an irregularity in the way Audacity 1.2.4.b exports to AIFF
files. I've had good results exporting from Audacity to a 16-bit PCM
WAV file, but since I work on a Macintosh (a G5 running OS 10.3.9 and
QuickTime 7.0.3), I thought I'd try out using AIFF files. Using the
same Audacity file that produced a good WAV file, I exported to a
16-bit AIFF file with mixed results. Sometimes the AIFF included pops,
clicks and digital squeals; re-exporting from the Audacity file
produced a different AIFF with different problems, and, very
occasionally, a file with no obvious defects.
It's not critical that I be able to export to AIFF since I can use WAV
files just as easily, but wondered if anyone has any ideas on what's
going wrong. Except for the occasional oddity, Audacity 1.2.4.b has
been very solid and useful.
