| Subject: [Audacity-help] m AUDIO podcast factory recording interface
| i bought an "m audio podcast factory recording interface" today.
| i was just wondering why i'm unable to record on the right mono, only
| the left mono is working.
Have you looked at the product manual?
If you are on Windows, have you installed the drivers from the provided CD?
Are you recording just with the microphone or with microphone and an instrument?
If you have Audacity set to record in mono on the Audio I/O tab of Preferences,
which would be preferable if you are just recording a microphone, then you will
only see the left hand channel of the red VU recording meter as active. When you
play back the recording it will come out of both speakers, but if you wish you can
pan it in the stereo field with the L....R pan slider on the Track Panel:
If you have any further questions, please tell us what operating system you are
on (e.g. Windows XP, OS X 10.4, and if you are on OS X, whether you have an
Intel Mac or Power PC). Also please tell us what version of Audacity you are
using (see Help > About Audacity or Audacity > About Audacity in the program).
