A helpful user on audacity-help recently found a reproducible way to
trigger a crash in the Amplify effect in Audacity 1.2.1. It seems to be
caused by the buffer overrun that was recently fixed by James Crook.
This buffer overrun likely caused most of the unreproducible crashing
bugs reported in Audacity 1.2. Thanks to James, it's fixed for 1.2.2!
Here is the bug as reported by Dana Breland:
> 1. load an audio, sort of long, at least 30 minutes.
> 2. split it twice (into three sections).
> 3. save the project.
> Now this is variable, scenario 1
> 4. amp the 1st section, and crash.
> Or scenario 2:
> 4. amp section 1.
> 5. sometimes export section 1.
> 6. amp section 2, crash.
