Four additional items about updating Nyquist plug-ins.
1. Sometimes a string ;control line needs two spaces at the very
end of a line, particularly if the input space is blank. For
;control kernel2 "FIR kernel #2" string "" ""
Without the two spaces after the second "", that line is not
This does not seem to be the case if the second "" has some
information such as
;control kernel1 "FIR kernel #1" string "" ".25 .5 1 .5 .25"
2. If there is more than one space between any item in a ;control
line, there is an error/unpredictable result. This is not the case
when there is more than once space between Nyquist functions and/or
arguments inside a Nyquist plug-in.
3. I've been thinking about the user being able to have information
displayed when inside a Nyquist plug-in. Would it be possible to
for instance have information displayed on-screen (written by the
plug-in writer or someone else), written inside the plug-in, which
tells about a specific edit field?
How about something like a "checkbox field" in which the user could
click on individual/multiple boxes (or "display all information")
and have that displayed?
Perhaps have another ;control line like Arun designed, an 'info'
line with similar layout, using the names of each argument as the
different checkbox options.
;control f "LFO rate" real "hz" 2 0.1 10
;control amp "amplitude" int "percent" 100 0 100
;control display "Give me information about: " info "f:amp:all"
What would be displayed to the user would be the information
displayed in the first text area such as "LFO frequency", since "f"
would be meaningless to many users.
4. Also related to Arun's choice ;control line: would it be
possible to create a checkbox control line so that more than one
option could be checked at the same time? I wanted this type of
input field for at least a couple of my early plug-ins but I don't
recall what they were.
I'm not sure how the information would be displayed, possibly the writer
could create as many explanations as arguments. Actually, while I'm
thinking about it, something could be written for this in present Nyquist
: a string input in which the numbers of the edit fields could... acch,
I'll write a simple plug which would explain much more conciselly.

Well, seems I was rather over-eager... lots of experimenting and best
results I could get for info on 4 variables was a display of
nil nil nil nil
Thanks... and looking forward to the newest Nyquist, however it comes out.
