Sorry I haven't chimed in on the latest discussions on tempo/pitch/speed
change. Basically, I agree with Dominic and have been proceeding along
those lines, UI-wise. Once we have 3 different dialogs that we can agree
on, I think we can better discuss whether to combine them into a tabbed
Just committed a "Change Tempo" effect UI. Does nothing to the waves
currently. I'll check out the latest WSOLA vs Soundstretch and pitch in
my 2 cents. Itching to see it work.
I decided to go with 3 different types of change specification (percent,
BPM, or length in seconds), and a non-denominational slider (actually
based on percent change). Rather than radio button them, they're all
live together. For example, change the tempo by -50% and then the BPM
halves and the length doubles. (You have to enter the "From BPM" to get
that started.) Check 'em out and send comments, please.
Any reason not to use wxTextValidators to make the wxTextCtrl dialog
inputs conform, e.g., to prevent alphabet characters in numeric fields?
I noticed they're not currently used anywhere in Audacity, so maybe
there's a cross-platform issue?
