Just a heads-up to everyone - I've merged the i18n changes into my working directory, and I will be committing them to the HEAD tonight. This is a big checkin that touches almost every source file, so get ready with 'make dep all'. The patch consists almost entirely of wrapping user-visible strings in the _("text") macro. This won't have any visible effect until I finish the code to select a locale and load the translation file. I hope to get this done this weekend. Any new code in Audacity should use _() around translateable strings. In the next few days I will be writing i18n/l10n documentation for both programmers and translators. Let me know if there are any problems with the changes this evening. |

Just to confirm, you're checking this into audacity-old with the audacity-0_9-branch tag, right (not the new audacity HEAD)? Actually, we should get rid of the tag...how hard is it to merge that tag into the HEAD and force it to accept all changes? - Dominic Matt Brubeck wrote: > Just a heads-up to everyone - > > I've merged the i18n changes into my working directory, and I will be > committing them to the HEAD tonight. I originally planned to work from the 0.9 branch, but later reversed that decision: http://www.geocrawler.com/lists/3/SourceForge/11785/75/7534801/ The changes I want to commit to the HEAD are currently on audacity-i18n-branch in the new (audacity-src) repository. > Actually, we should get rid of the tag...how hard is it to merge > that tag into the HEAD and force it to accept all changes? Hmm. I did some experimenting using 'cvs -n' (dry run), and haven't found a method that would work without some amount of human intervention. Is there a particular reason to get rid of the branch tag? I never thought it caused any inconvenience or trouble. True, the HEAD is no longer in use in that repository, but it still contains useful history information. |
