Assuming the Beta is crashing (your subject says 1.2 is crashing),
I would check at Help > About Audacity if you are using the latest
If not, upgrade to 1.3.12.
Crash recovery should be much more reliable in the next 1.3.13 Beta,
because most changes affecting the project will be autosaved, instead
of saved according to a time interval. I suggest you use 1.3 12 on the
Vista machine. 1.2 can crash on Vista when you press Stop after
Often you can solve repeated crashes in the same project by exporting
each track as a WAV, plus any label tracks, import them all into a fresh
project and save that as a new project.
If you find a set of cut and paste steps that always causes a crash in
1.3.12, please let us know.
