This problem is reproducible on an Athlon T. Bird with an Asus AV266-C
MB with onboard sound enabled. It also shows up on a K6-2 500 with a
Soyo SY-5EMA Pro MB and some generic sound card. Both are running on Win
Before applying equalization and a track is played everything sounds
fine. All effects also work fine. When the equalization effect is used
there is a subtle artifact or distortion that sounds exactly like a
loose voice coil winding in headphones and speakers. It is easily
noticeable during a low volume bass line, such as during the intro of
U2s Where the Streets Have No Name and the intro to With or Without You.
It is saved to .wav and MP3 files as well. This effect is very useful
and I would very much like to see (here?) it fixed. It would make this
application nearly perfect. Thank you for your time.
