HI Srikanth,
Ok, if I understand you correctly, you need to just do two things, break a big track into smaller ones, and convert it to mp3. A way to do this without using Audacity would be to use a mp3 converter (http://download.cnet.com/Switch-Audio-Converter/3000-2140_4-10703967.html) and than, if, and only if, you need to spilt them according to time (if it was say a sermon or lecture or some speech), you can use an mp3 splitter program, which breaks them up by time or file size, here is one called xmp3spillter: http://download.cnet.com/Xmp3split/3000-2141_4-10211783.html. Both of the linked programs are free.
I hope this answers your question!

I have a MAC running v 10.5
I have Audacity v 1.2.5
w/ Lame

I have a big WAV file - that need to ripped into individual MP3 tracks.
I loaded the big WAV file into Audacity - it translates to a small file that just squeaks through.
How do I load the big WAV file and convert it into MP3 ?

The big WAV file works fine with Quicktime Player.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
