To whom it may concern:

This is probably very elementary. But I love your
software and would like to get it installed
correctly. Right now, I can't access any of the star
databases on my Palm Zire. OS 4.5.1? I have
downloaded them and installed them to my device. But
I can't access them from the actual program. They do
show up in my iSilo DOC reader, but it's all
garbled.

What can I do to access this data from Astro Info?

Thanks so much ahead of time,
Jim

The star catalogs are not in a standard format and only
accessible within astroinfo. You may need to install them
into the palm internal memory, not on an external memory
card. Then open astroinfo, choose "Catalogs" from the menu,
then click on the select button. You should see the
installed catalogs listed. Select one of the catalogs and
you get the list of the stars it contains. After that, the
sky map should also show the stars from the catalog.

I hope to have this more intuitive in the next version.

Thanks so much, Jochen. That has done it. This is
great! The one other thing I'm experiencing right now is
the night mode doesn't appear to change the display to
red/black. I just get the same color display. Do you
know what might be causing that?

    Thanks so much again,
    Jim

The night mode does not work for 16 bit color devices. I
think only a small change is necessary to get this working,
however, I have not find the time to look into this.

Hopefully this will be in a later version, but until then
night mode works only for the older 8 bit-only devices.
