Scott, set ReportLog to verbose set MaintenanceLog to on do such a report you should see at least the following lines in maillog.txt <in...@do...> email: combined spam & whitelist report $type-Report: process message from <in...@do...> $type Report: processed attached messagefile $name from <in...@do...> -- shown if the mail was sent as attachment $type-Report: finished report-message from <in...@do...> If you don't see a line like line 2, assp is missing the sequence [CR][LF].[CR][LF] at the end of the DATA and is waiting for more DATA or at least this sequence. Such a connection will run in to the SMTPTimeOut - and it will look like (at the client side) assp is unrepondsive for ~ 2 minutes ('SMTPTimeOut'). In this case set 'debugNoWriteBody' to off and debug such a connection to see what happens. Thomas Von: Scott MacLean <as...@ho...> An: ASSP development mailing list <ass...@li...> Datum: 05.07.2011 17:35 Betreff: [Assp-test] report-spam hanging I have had many, many reports from users that they can't send forwarded emails to their "report-spam" address, because ASSP just stops responding. From what I can tell, this problem has been going on for months. I was able to duplicate the problem here. What happens is after the normal SMTP conversation, ASSP sends back its "354 OK Send spam body", the client sends the content of the message, and ASSP never responds. Eventually the client just times out. Nothing is logged by ASSP beyond: Jul-05-11 10:17:18 XY-75438-13514 [Worker_1] 11.22.33.44 <in...@do...> email: combined spam & whitelist report I have an example spam here: http://lambert.nerosoft.com/TestMsg.txt This is the header and body of the message. If an SMTP session is opened to my server, sending the mail to report-spam, sending the text of the file above after the 354 OK response, the ASSP process stops responding, every time. This report-spam failure happens about 75% of the time when sending messages to report-spam on my server. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable. Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes sense of it. IT sense. And common sense. http://p.sf.net/sfu/splunk-d2d-c2 _______________________________________________ Assp-test mailing list Ass...@li... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/assp-test DISCLAIMER: ******************************************************* This email and any files transmitted with it may be confidential, legally privileged and protected in law and are intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed.
