As far as I know, the Perl "subsystem" will try hard to hide all the differences, but sometimes it fails, so it would be a good idea having a function to "normalize" the paths and always use "/" when it comes to paths/filenames (and if we want to fathom this, unix uses \n as the newline, apple use(d|s) \r while the "DOS" uses \r\n ... so there's no definite agreement on that as well <g>) |
