In trying to convert some java docs from an old style
of having two spaces after the star to one space after
the star, I ran into a bug where J refuses to recognize
patterns that it should be matching. Open up the
attached java file in J: CTRL-R for the replace
dialog: Use "* " as the patter and "* " as the text
it should be replaced with: Notice that any line that
starts with an alphanumeric character after the star
and two spaces does not get replaced while other lines do.

Java file that shows the undesired behavior in the replace feature.

This operation works correctly if the "Whole words only"
    checkbox is unchecked.

    Not a bug.
