The description attribute itself is type RPClass.HIDDEN so it will not be sent to the client and will not affect bandwidth by itself. Default descriptions ("You see a wooden shield. This is a defense item. Stats are (DEF: 10)." are not stored in the attribute, so they don't affect Server object memory space or database load. The description is sent to the client in response to a "Look" event via player.setPrivateText. So it basically depends on the length of descriptions that are put in for the items that clients are currently looking at: In case nobody looks at any item: Not at all. In the case that many people keep looking at things at the same time: just a little bit. In the (rarest) case everyone looks at an item that has 64k description at the same time: huge ;-) Regards, Jo Am 29.04.2006 um 09:44 schrieb Stephen Ierodiaconou: > Just one comment, how will this affect server bandwidth usage? > > Regards > Steve > > Jo Seiler wrote: >> Hello everyone, >> >> I started to move the way something is described to the server, >> making it possible to configure descriptions with the server >> content and without the need of releasing a new client version. >> So when you look at things instead of >> "You see a wooden shield.
