Of course we could store all this in a file, but what = if > you want to continue to play at univ while you usually play at home, fo= r > example ? You would lose all your "memory". >=20 I think the client-side method is the best one. In Stars! - multiplayer turn-based strategy game, you need info about planets you have scanned, enemy constructions you have seen, etc.. And it's stored in a file on client machine, and it's not sended with every turn. In file which you get from host, you get only info about situation from this year, and older info is loaded from this history file. And it hits the same problem as in Arianne, if you want to play from two diffrent comps. But i think it's the best method, to make end-user care about it. He can "ftp-up" this file somewhere if he wants. I know it's hard, when you lose info about past, but it happens, you must just go on with it. And i think, when someone will play a lot, he will sure remeber the most important places to him - like mountains, citis, etc.. PS. Hi to everyone, i was lurking here for a lot time now, so maybe i wil= l say sth from time to time :)))) --=20 Grzegorz "Silk" Soba=F1ski <si...@po...> *** GU d- s:+ a19 C++ ULB++++ P+ L++(+) E--- W+ N+++ w- !PS PGP- t X-(+) R>+ tv+ b+++ DI D+ G h! !r |
