Hi all, Here it is the new "proposed" combat system ( attack method ) http://stendhal.game-server.cc/StendhalRPCombatSim.php.txt I have done a small rebalance of creature stats to ease lower players and make harder for high levels. Also I plan to finish the current level up race... each monster will reward less XP points. It is not reasonable to kill an Orc and get 1000-2000 XP points. And finally... http://stendhal.game-server.cc/stendhal_015.jpg Yes, items. And items take part of the combat. This release will feature only left hand, right hand and armor. We will complete on next releases. If there is any feedback... I plan to do a release tomorrow or Friday at worst. Regards, Miguel |

Great, considering that I'm still at level 0! :) Seriously, I think that for now it going be a nice change, considering that : From http://arianne.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/StendhalManual#Combat you say that 1 turn takes about 1.6 sec to complete. Actually a OneVSOne fights between a Lvl 0 Player and a lvl 0 rat takes around 60 sec to complete, that is , ~35 turns if I am correct.(quite a pain...) Now From http://stendhal.game-server.cc/StendhalRPLevelSim.php it says that the same fight now takes 27 turns to complete = 41 sec, which is a lot better from the previous value. Considering that Stendhal is an Action-RPG it think we should try to lower the times for such a fight to around 30 sec, while trying to balance the forces on the field. > Also I plan to finish the current level up race... each monster will > reward less XP points. > It is not reasonable to kill an Orc and get 1000-2000 XP points. > Much depends on how such points will be used... Considering the changes , you should consider raising the XP needed to reach a new level. |
