Of course, help is always welcome. :)
Adding new items is always an incentive for players in
each new release.
The process right now is that you think about an item
and design the graphic for it.
Be sure to take a look at the wiki about the graphics
specifications for items and try to be consistent with
the present "zelda" style.
It would be interesting that along with the item
graphic you could think about the item properties and
what kind of creature or under what circumstances you
would like the item to be dropped. These information
is usually stored in XML files but it's not necessary
that you know about them.
Another important task now, however, is completing the
existing map zones by adding more details. There are
large extensions right now that are quite monotonous.
