I agree, Zope is what we should use to power a new web
I propose a vote:
Which does the Arianne project need more?
1) A better codebase. What I mean is, is it the
highest priority right now that Arianne start to be
playable with rules and some of the more advanced
things like perceptions and a better object system?
2) A new collaborative website. Where coders, RPG
creaters, mappers, graphers, and web-page authors can
all go to submit their input and find out the latest,
greatest about Arianne?
I can understand choice 1, because it would get more
ppl to try arianne and start helping, and having a
working game would rule!
But I can also understand 2, because a greater
automation for our collaboration would allow for
greater productivity in the long run. I envision
something combining the best of sourceforge, slashdot,
and things unique to arianne, such as "Submit an
Object," or "Submit a Rule."
I would like to do both of these, but since my time is
very limited (at least untill June for sure or
January, best case), I can only realisticly attempt
one of them. So, I propose the vote.
And I propose a further question. Primarily pointed at
those most involved with the project:
If "1" is chosen, should I work on the code until
Alpha 2 is released and then go 50% code, 50% zope? Or
should I just work on the code 100% until further
If "2" is chosen, when should I start working on the
code again? Or should I just go 50% code, 50% zope to
BTW, I would hope to use djagg's and Oliver's new
website layout and graphics if choice "2" is decided
upon.... they're just that outstanding :-)
Thanks to Peter for the outstanding idea of using
