    Now this is going to be controversical.

    General:
    1.6    In Arianne, keeping your character alive against the odds, will be considered legitimate behaviour, and thus be supported by the rules.

    In Detail:
    3    The Gameplay-rules of Arianne
    3.1    The Luck-Attribute will enable characters to survive against the odds - if the player wants to
    Some players want it the hard way, while others dont like their character getting killed at every other corner. Roleplaying is not about winning, though, but more like the olympic idea of being there, taking part (in a story, that is). Still, challenges are the salt in the soup (a german saying). Surviving with semi-realistic combat-mechanics is hard. So Arianne will provide mechanisms that allow for surviving. Dont mistake this with winning, though
    3.2    The Ki-Attribute will enable characters to conduct extraordinary feats, or stand unbearable stress. Player-characters gain Ki by maximizing attributes and skills, or by other, game-defined events, that are supposed to strenghten the personality of a character
    Some people would say, this is not a gameplay-addition, but simply reality. Well. For now, in Arianne, it is not ;-)
    This is to give characters an edge in hopeless situations - i.e., to turn a simple defeat into heroic death. Yeah. Think of that. Youll find other uses, once youve seen the implementation. Good implementations are in the p&p-game Bushido, and in the Star-Wars-RPG (where it is called force-points).
    3.3    Players will be awarded with Karma when they do, or let their characters do, what the game-designers think is beneficial for Arianne. Karma is stored in the account of the player. Each new character created by a player will benefit in some ways from this Karma.
    In a commercial game, Players pay a company for providing entertainment. This is a non-commercial game. So only Players can provide this service (and, of course, consider the developers and designers of Arianne as being very, very dedicated Players). With Karma, the Game-Engine Arianne has its currency, with which to pay Players for supporting the game. Wanna have an ueber-character? Be an ueber-supporter of the game
    3.4    Characters staying alive from such acts will of course use up their luck, but will gain every logic benefit (and every logic drawback) from experiencing near death: Scars, knowledge what really is a bad idea in combat, disabilities, Willpower, depressions.

      I think this should be looked at for good thinking for the RP system re-design, and hopefuly implementing,,,

      Arianne has evolved beyond what it was 1 year ago, things like this should be looked at and try to install in the newer RP system,

      3.3 is currently being looked at, but I'm not sure as to what depth ;o)
