Currently you get ATK XP whether you hit or miss the enemy as long as the enemy has successfully hit you recently. I think it would make more sense to gain ATK XP for every successful hit regardless of whether or not the enemy has hit you. Misses and blocks would not count toward ATK XP. This would be beneficial to players who enjoy fighting in parties. It would allow all party members to gain ATK XP not just the character receiving the damage, and make group fighting more enjoyable.
Doing this would also resolve the ranged problem without having to create a separate stat, though I am not apposed to created a ranged stat.
