Just compiled the new release and it's all working fine on the first torrent i tried .. very nice. One quick question in the 1.4.0 release notes..
"Fixed the bug that POU peers are never choked in seeding."
I googled around but couldn't figure out what a POU peer is, and if this will further increase up/down load efficiency. Just curious what that bug fix means to us users.
BTW, it's great having the no. of SEEDs in console output. Thanks for adding it in!
POU peer is "planned optimistic unchoked peer".
In seed state, aria2 randomly unchokes interested peer. These peers are called planned optimistic unchoked peer.
The bug is that once a peer is unchoked by this mechanism, it never be choked. This means aria2 has to handle more piece upload requests and as a result each peer has slower download rate.
the idea of real time core acces is really good... i continue to follow aria2 but they are no bugs to report :-X :-X ;)
I think sebone got shy, we were discussing how t-tujikawa is a genius & how much we like aria2 :)
Debian updated to 1.4.1, thanks to Patrick :)
Great. Looks like 1.4.1 is pretty stable now, taking into account the bug tracker activity. Let's see the next sync cycle with ubuntu to replace old version.
1.4.1 is in Ubuntu now :)
