Install Wine, download and run Ares and everything will work. Converting it really has no advantages at all...

Converting is full of advantages since running it as a native application makes is much faster and lighter. Plus using Wine is a nightmare. Maybe a little more experience could make you understand the advantages of native applications. For me, this sounds great!

Because Ares is developed in Delphi the only way to create it natively for Linux is to try and make it compile with FreePascal, which would probably be an absolute nightmare, not least because of the 3rd-party components Ares uses. If it works on wine that's probably the best you're going to get

I tried to use Ares with Wine.
    The result was very disappointing.
The GUI was very unstable. The search of files was much less effective in comparison to that made on Windows.
    Uploads do not work.
    On my machine ....;-)
