Version 7.1.5 - August 24, 2009

java version "1.6.0_15"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 14.1-b02, mixed mode)

Ubuntu 9.10

After installing I create a new workspace in my home dir and after that I want to setup a new group. When I want to save the group I can click the Save button but nothing happens. The title adds the modified word but I can not save the new group. Hence I can not create any backups. I'm sure it works for you (it worked for me too in Ubuntu 9.04). Any suggestions what I can do to figured out why I can not save the new group.

    Hi

There are two possible explanations :
    1) Workspace problem : Try creating a subfolder named "workspace" in /home//.areca .... (the current version of Areca won't work if your workspace points to a nonexisting directory ... it will be fixed in the next version)
    2) Ubuntu/SWT/GTK problem (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/gtk/+bug/442078 ) : Try adding "export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true" in the "areca_run.sh" script (the next version of Areca will come with this option enabled by default)

    Best regards
