Appupdater 0.7 Beta Released

I'm calling this a beta release because a good percentage of the code has been cleaned up or otherwise changed. It is not officially supported and it really only for those needing the new features listed below. Highlights are proxy support, a decent GUI, support for UNIX-like OSes. I would appreciate any feedback you have before the next real release. You can get the beta here:

These older versions have the capability to auto-upgrade themselves, but no other programs will be upgraded until that happens.

Appupdater Solution to Java Vulnerability

Dangerous Java flaw threatens virtually everything

http://www.zdnetasia.com/news/security/0,39044215,62028389,00.htm

Pure Hacking’s Gatford said the problem is compounded by the slim chance of an enterprise patching Java Runtime vulnerabilities.

"It would be an extremely difficult and laborious process for an organization trying to patch Java Runtime across the enterprise," he said.

But not if they are using Appupdater...when the fix is released Appupdater will have it.
