No

I ran AppleJack. All went fine.
After using AJ, I have only 20GB of free disk space,
before I had 50GB.

Does AJ save the deleted files somewhere ? I used AJ
all steps 1-4.

Thanks

    Mr. Angell,

    Thanks for your question.

This is indeed strange. I have a few questions:
    1) What kind of problems were you having that led you to use AppleJack in
    the first place?
    2) Did you notice if the disk repair routine actually repaired your disk?
    3) Have you restarted your Mac again, after finding this unusual disk space
    result?

AppleJack does not save files anywhere. If anything, it deletes files, so it
should actually leave you with more space after running rather than less.

The only culprit I can think of is that maybe the disk repair routine
changed something in your directory structure which mapped out available
    space differently.

That way, if we discover something, it can be of benefit to others. Thanks

    Kristofer

One of the files was mis reporting its size. In fact its just happened again ! I am downloading a load of 14MB RAR files and one reports itself as 32GB !!!

    Any idea why ??

The culprit that immediately comes to mind is the directory on your hard drive. Either that or these rar files are carrying viruses.

I would check the disk with DiskWarrior or something (assuming you've already repaired it with Disk Utility).

I don't have any other solutions, but feel confident this has nothing to do with AppleJack, so it's out of my domain.

    Thanks.
