APBS Users, I have successfully installed MALOC-0.1-1 but I received these following message when compiling APBS-0.2.6. I set to install in /usr/local/pbe/dist. Since the location of the program in a root-own directory, the commands that I used were: ./configure --prefix=${TOP}/dist sudo make # sudo is a command in Mac OS X to act as a super doer sudo make install Is this a question better for the mailing list? If so, I will sign up and post it there. Thanks in advance, Ivan Pan PS: The followings are my hardware/software configurations and error messages. Very interesting -- that's a new one for me! It sounds like the FORTRAN and C compilers aren't getting along, but that's about all I can say right now. I just received funding that will enable me to purchase some other platforms and test APBS compilation. The first one I'll get is a MacOS X box. However, I'm curious; I know there are other APBS users who have successfully compiled on Macs. Do any of you have any suggestions? Thanks, Nathan -- Nathan A. I could reproduce the same error using the versions 3.3 of gcc and 3.4 of g77 compilers on MacOS X 10.2.8. However, it does compile properly with the versions 3.1 of GNU compilers except for some tools (especially uhbd_asc2bin.f) but the apbs executable is generated. The version 3.4 of g77 is still experimental, so I would recommend to use the version 3.1 with the same gcc version. N.B.: the optimization level can be increased without any problem.
