Oops!  Thanks for nudging me, I meant to reply and then forgot about it.

The installer files aren't in the repository.  I'll post them, but I need to clean them up a little first.  It shouldn't take long though.

Ok, the installer files are posted.  Sorry for taking so long.  You can get them from

    https://www.artofillusion.org/temp/installer.zip

It involves a combination of IzPack (http://izpack.org), launch4j (http://launch4j.sourceforge.net), and shell scripts to tie everything together.  You should unzip everything into your ArtOfIllusion directory.  That is, the shell scripts should be in the same directory that contains your ArtOfIllusion.jar and your plugins directory.  These scripts do not compile anything.  They just package up things that are already compiled.

The script you'll be interested in is packageLinuxWin.sh, which creates the Linux and Windows installers.  It also invokes package.sh.  You'll need to modify it to give the correct paths to wherever you have IzPack and launch4j installed.  Of course, if you're doing this on Windows you'll need to convert them to batch files, but that should be pretty simple.

The script takes one argument, which is the version number to append to file and directory names.  For example, to generate installers for version 2.9.2, type

    ./packageLinuxWin.sh 292

Once it finishes, the installers will be in the InstallerBuild directory.

Let me know if you have questions.

    Peter

Peter, how about the source code of the launcher? (The artofIllusion.exe)

    Is that available, too?

    Merry Christmas

It's generated by launch4j.  The configuration file for it is included in the zip.

    Bump (this time for Seb)
Were you able to find something about the installation process with Win7?

Would be perfect with AoI 3 ahead.

    Thanks in advance
