There is not currently a simple mechanism to modify the name of the executables invoked for compiler, linker, librarian et al. You can either use a symbolic link to redirect gcc in a specific directory to your gcc166, otherwise you could create your own adapter class and specify it using the classname parameter (instead of the typical name parameter for built-in compiler adapters).
