I am trying to use CPPTaks in a simple build but get the above error.

On Redhat Linux 9.0 downloaded cpptasks...tar.gz, unzipped it, and coptied the cpptaks.jar file to the ant lib directory.

I have been using ant 1.6.2 very successfully for java but need to do some C++ within the same build file so I thought I'd try cpptasks.

If anyone needs it I have a file containing both the build file and the ant debug output but don't know how to append it to this post.

I am obviously doing something wrong.

    Any comments?

    Jim

A NullPointerException is not acceptible and would be considered a bug even if the condition that caused it was inappropriate.  However, can't do anything without knowing the source of the exception from the stack trace or a sample case.  In case, the problem has already been fixed, you might try a nightly build from http://gump.covalent.net/jars/ (non-responsive at the moment)

I agree that an exception is a less than polite way of announcing a usage error. In this case, I had not specified either outfile or objdir (the one I needed in my case) on the <cc> element.

That is now done and cc is now working without objection.
