Hello Karolis, I would recommend to use AndroMDA for artifacts generating as in this case you will not depend on particular modeling tool and will be able to reuse existing AndroMDA cartridges. However, MagicDraw might be used for preparing efficient modeling environment for your domain (Open API, custom diagrams, DSL engine, reports templates and so on). Hello Ruslanas. Thanks for pointing me to MagicDraw's XSD generator. It is quite good. Apart from generating XSD I wanted to try to use AndroMDA for code engineering. In near future I am going to develop code generator for Apache ServiceMix. I'm trying to decide now, witch tools should I use for this. Is it convenient way to develop model transformations and code generators using MagidDraw OpenAPI? I just has an opinion, that usage of external tools like AndroMDA and ATL will be much easier. Hello. I am trying to generate XML schema from an UML model. I developed UML model using MagicDraw 16.5, exported as "EMF UML2 (2.x) XMI File". In the model, I imported module "andromda-profile-xml-3.4-SNAPSHOT.xml.zip" and applied stereotype "XmlSchemaType" for my class. Build executes successfully, but empty schema document is generated (just a schema element, with no complex types). My class has only this stereotype applied. What I'm doing wrong? If it helps, I can send you my model as well as andromda.xml. Sincerely, Karolis Petrauskas |

Create a new method in the uml common metafacades model OperationFacade, something like getSequenceBody, or create a new attribute sequenceBody and it will create a getter method automatically. Generate the UML Common and UML14, UML2, UML22 metafacades by building through mvn. You will get a compilation error because the descendants of the abstract OperationFacadeLogic from UML Common do not implement the handleGetSequenceBody method. Just implement that method in each of the metafacade implementations (you can stub it out in UML14 just to get it to compile) using the underlying UML2 types populated from the model and the existing relationships from the UML2 Operation class. -- Thanks Bob Fields bobfieldsfb <at> hotmail <dot> com _________________________________________________________ Reply to the post : http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=28198#28198 Posting to http://forum.andromda.org/ is preferred over posting to the mailing list! |

You can have properties to define if the element will generate code or not. For example, in the JSF2 metafacades: <metafacade class="org.andromda.cartridges.jsf2.metafacades.JSFViewLogicImpl"> <mapping> <property name="frontEndView"/> <property name="containedInFrontEndUseCase"/> </mapping> <property reference="viewPopulatorPattern"/> <property reference="actionFormKey"/> </metafacade> the properties "frontEndView" and "containedInFrontEndUseCase" are used to define the instantiation of the metafacade. -- Walter Mourão http://waltermourao.com.br _________________________________________________________ Reply to the post : http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=28196#28196 Posting to http://forum.andromda.org/ is preferred over posting to the mailing list! |

Hi, I have gone through the tutorial "Getting Started Java", and now I am investigating the development of a software testing automation engine. As a starting point, I will be looking at a simple Visual Basic Login screen with a user id and a password field, and also an OK button. The automation engine will read test data from a spreadsheet, populate the window, and click the OK button. Then it will confirm that the the actual result is what was expected. If not, it will generate a defect. Some questions related to this: 1. Is it possible to generate a GUI application using AndroMDA ? 2. Is it possible to use AndroMDA to develop the automation engine as described above ? 3. Is there any sample UML available for a simple GUI application ? If so, can you please provide a copy of the UML so that I can use it as a template. Thanks. _________________________________________________________ Reply to the post : http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=28194#28194 Posting to http://forum.andromda.org/ is preferred over posting to the mailing list! |

I know that this is an old thread, but I had the problem with update-on-read for Entities holding a clob type, too. Obfuscator's recommendation works here. This is what I do: in mda/src/main/config/mappings, I created a file "HibernateExtensionMappings.xml" with the following content: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?> <!-- Fixes/extends original AndroMDA Hibernate Mappings, which you find in HibernateTypeMappings.xml --> <mappings name="HibernateExtension"> <extends>Hibernate</extends> <mapping> <from>datatype::Clob</from> <!-- Map to text, as the HibernateStringClobType causes an update after read if the attribute is NULL See http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4583 --> <!--to>org.andromda.persistence.hibernate.usertypes.HibernateStringClobType</to--> <to>text</to> </mapping> </mappings> And in mda/src/main/config/andromda.xml, change to: <property name="hibernateTypeMappingsUri">file:${conf.dir}/mappings/HibernateExtensionMappings.xml</property> With this, the update-on-read problem is fixed here. Tested with AndroMDA 3.2 _________________________________________________________ Reply to the post : http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=28192#28192 Posting to http://forum.andromda.org/ is preferred over posting to the mailing list! |

Yes, you're right. I hadn't noticed because we always model standard UML enums, there really isn't such a thing as EnumerationLiteral.Value when using actual UML Enumerations instead of Class <<Enumeration>>. The value declaration was changed from ${literal.enumerationLiteralParameters} in the original template implementation, but that method doesn't exist on EnumerationLiteralFacade, only on AttributeFacade. It is populated there from the tagged value @andromda.persistence.enumeration.literal.parameters. It looks like the original implementation code assumed the enum was always modeled as a class with attributes instead of an actual UML Enumeration with literals. Now I see why I was always getting the ${literal.enumerationLiteralParameters} output from that template in the Java cartridge. I'm doing some other work in the Java cartridge, trying to make sure the output actually compiles and is compatible with UML2 models, also fixing the types for Int enumerations, I can fix that at the same time. I'm just about finished, will test and apply the changes. -- Thanks Bob Fields bobfieldsfb <at> hotmail <dot> com _________________________________________________________ Reply to the post : http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=28187#28187 Posting to http://forum.andromda.org/ is preferred over posting to the mailing list! |
