There should be a separate list for lenses used. I have several Pentax bodies and lenses. In the current version of the app I have to attach every lens I own to every body I own in the meta data thus repeating everything.

For now, you can duplicate lens items and copy/move them using drag-n-drop. I'll think on how to implement the multiple camera body-single lens relations.

Could this not be separated just like Film and Developer? Right now there are three categories: Camera and Lens, Film, Developer. Wouldn't it work to make a Camera and a Lens (and Flash for that matter) category?

I was planning to add more categories and allow user to add/modify the categories as well. However, in this case, I see difficulties with equipment display in GUI (use a tree for equipment? use tabs for different categories?)

  • I can see the difficulties in the GUI. Maybe a tabbed Equipment window would do?

I went ahead and made a little mock up with a tabbed equipment list, but i don't think I can attach a picture to this. I do see one problem with the equipment display in the main window though.

I actually tried tabs in the beginning and they are looking ok under Mac. However, they don't look proper under Windows.

I can see tabs as filters for the image metadata display; however, I think that tree suits better as UI solution to the equipment list.

I'll post the pic in the Flickr thread for you to have a look at it.
