Hi Jacob, You only need $_explicitType on the PHP side and RemoteClass on the AS side so that part is correct. Two things I would do to get this working: Your biggest issue is that the class/package mapping on the PHP side starts at the 'vo' folder so your PHP file should be in services/vo/vo to map to vo.Person. So really just create a folder called 'vo' inside the current 'vo' folder and put your Person.php (I think the capitalisation in the filename is important too) in the nested folder and this issue should be resolved. Secondly, I would make the constructors on both sides take the same number of arguments. On the PHP side, you can get rid of the function Person() altogether (mine works fine without one) and on the AS side, change your function sig to: public function Person(_name:String = '', _children:ArrayCollection = null) And obviously also add if(_name != '') in the function body and this should be fixed too. I'd also echo that it's a good idea to use Charles or ServiceCapture (my favourite) to check that the classes are being sent/received as the correct type. The demo versions of these programs should be fine for initial testing. Cheers, Darren. Jacob, Have you looked at the "Using Amfphp 1.9 with the Flex 2 SDK" on How To Forge? It's been a while since I have worked with AMFPHP but I think your Actionscript class needs a constructor that takes no arguments. None of it does. It seems the vast majority of examples on the internet are code snippets, pieces and fragments - all with comments asking for a full code block because the examples aren't complete. PS When I mean using Charles Prxoy, I mean to analyse the traffic. If you have done things correctly you will see you class alis in your AMF request. Hi, Here's what I remember, though I haven't done this in a while: registerClassAlias is needed for sending an explicit type. _explicitType is needed for the PHP side to be able to understand what to do with this, and to send it back. I suggest you use Charles Proxy to have a look at what's going by, it will help you debug. Finally this kind of question is better in the forums, so that people can find them easily. hope this helps! Hello, I'm not sure which is the preferred method for communicating with the amfphp group, the mailing list or the forums (seems like both have been active), so I'm posting this here. I added a little tweak or two to AMFBaseDeserializer->mapClass() that I'd like to share. It basically just attempts to create an instance of a class first before checking for the class by building a file path. function mapClass($typeIdentifier) { //Check out if class exists if($typeIdentifier == "") { return NULL; } $clazz = NULL; $mappedClass = str_replace('.', '/', $typeIdentifier); if($typeIdentifier == "flex.messaging.messages.CommandMessage") { return new CommandMessage(); } if($typeIdentifier == "flex.messaging.messages.RemotingMessage") { return new RemotingMessage(); } if($typeIdentifier == "flex.messaging.io.ArrayCollection") { return new ArrayCollection(); } if(isset($GLOBALS['amfphp']['incomingClassMappings'][$typeIdentifier])) { $mappedClass = str_replace('.', '/', $GLOBALS['amfphp']['incomingClassMappings'][$typeIdentifier]); } // Depending on various settings (autoload, include_path, etc), // we may be able to just create an instance using the given $typeIdentifier. // If we cam, just return it and skip all the code below. try{ $clazz = new $typeIdentifier; if ( $clazz != null){ return $clazz; } }catch(Exceptiion $e){ } $lastPlace = strrpos('/' . $mappedClass, '/'); $classname = substr($mappedClass, $lastPlace); $clazz = new $classname; $include = FALSE; if(file_exists($GLOBALS['amfphp']['customMappingsPath'] . $mappedClass . '.php')) { $include = $GLOBALS['amfphp']['customMappingsPath'] . $mappedClass . '.php'; } elseif(file_exists($GLOBALS['amfphp']['customMappingsPath'] . $mappedClass . '.class.php')) { $include = $GLOBALS['amfphp']['customMappingsPath'] . $mappedClass . '.class.php'; } if($include !== FALSE) { include_once($include); $lastPlace = strrpos('/' . $mappedClass, '/'); $classname = substr($mappedClass, $lastPlace); if(class_exists($classname)) { $clazz = new $classname; }else { } } return $clazz; // return the object } The ArrayCollection class in the method above is just: class ArrayCollection extends ArrayObject { var $_explicitType = "flex.messaging.io.ArrayCollection"; public function __construct( $config = array() ) { parent::__construct( $config, ArrayObject::ARRAY_AS_PROPS ); } } ?> |

Hey Kevin In both the Flex HTTPService and RemoteObject classes, there is a property called requestTimeout which accepts an integer (in milliseconds i think) to tell Flex how long to wait before a request timeout occurs... To my knowledge, the default value is 3000. The property works the same way for both classes. Does that do the trick? kevinyeandel wrote: > > Hi > I have php function that has a couple of lines calling system commands > e.g. > > $last = system('cd /tmp/bc ; latex '.$a[0].'.tex', $retl); > > If I comment this line out there are no problems - its definitely here > thats the problem. > I know when the linux runs the latex command against a tex file theres > about 3 seconds of processing going on. > > In Flex, on an HTTP Service is a request timeout -is there something > similar on a RemoteObject or some other means to tell the system to expect > a delay rather than experience a channel disconnection? Hi everybody: Using Mysql everything worked perfect, now I'm trying to connect to an MS Access database usin odbc functions. Here's my code: /////////////////////// <?php class obra { function obra() { $this->methodTable = array( "getObra" => array( "description" => "Devuelve registros en páginas", "access" => "remote", "pagesize" => "2", ) ); } function getObra( $offset = 0, $limit = 2) { $conn=odbc_connect('xxxxx', '', ''); $this->countQuery = sprintf("SELECT COUNT(*) AS recordCount FROM obras"); return odbc_exec($conn,sprintf("SELECT * FROM obras LIMIT %d, %d",$offset, $limit)); } function getObra_count() { $q = odbc_exec($conn,$this->countQuery); if($row = odbc_fetch_row($q)){ return $row['recordCount']; } else return 'No hay registros'; } } ?> /////////////////////// My problem is that the returned data is empty, i can only see the header of the columns of the table. I think the odbcAdapter is not working automatically (should?), becase if erase or modify the odbcAdapter.php I get the same result. Should I put something in the gateway.php to creape the mapping? or in another place? Anybody had ever tried to connect to an MS access database using amfphp successfully? Ideas? Help? Please. Hi I have php function that has a couple of lines calling system commands e.g. $last = system('cd /tmp/bc ; latex '.$a[0].'.tex', $retl); If I comment this line out there are no problems - its definitely here thats the problem. I know when the linux runs the latex command against a tex file theres about 3 seconds of processing going on. In Flex, on an HTTP Service is a request timeout -is there something similar on a RemoteObject or some other means to tell the system to expect a delay rather than experience a channel disconnection? Does anyone know if it's possible to have a thread in amfphp? Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology. Basically, I have a task that can sometimes take a few minutes on the server. I want the user to be able to do other things while it is going on. Right now, though, php waits for the task to complete before returning a value to Flash Player. Anyone know? Thanks! Alex |

Whoops, sorry: You'd want to have one method to get all of your accounts: public function GetAccounts() { $q = $this->escape ("SELECT * FROM accounts"); // maybe add some other conditions... return $this->DB->_query ($q); } public function GetContactsForAccount ($AccountID) { $q = $this->escape ("SELECT * FROM contacts WHERE account_id = %d", $AccountID ); return $this->DB->_query ($q); } In Flash/Flex you'd call GetAccounts to load your first DataGrid/List, then when the user clicks a certain row, you'd call GetContactsForAccount, passing the id/row they clicked on... You might want to check out the tutorials on the site. They are dated, because they're from amfphp 1.2, but they still give you a good idea of how amfphp works. Missed that last part. When the user clicks the second datagrid, you'd want to call some function like GetContactDetails ($ContactID), which will return to you the current data for the contact (Name, Email, Phone, etc...). You'd then display that data in some ui - InputText, etc... When the user saves the data, you'd have a method such as SetContactDetails($ContactID, $First, $Last, $Etc, $Etc) which would run a query like UPDATE contacts SET firstname = $First, lastname = $Last WHERE id = $ContactID. Hopefully this gets you started, it's psuedo code so it might not make sense. Let me know. Hello All, Just wanted to share that I just changed a couple lines in the core/shared/util/MethodTable.php I was getting a php "Depreciated" alert for the eregi_replace function used there. so I modified it.. however I am not entirely sure that what I did is correct as I have very little experience with reg expressions. I does work for me so that is why I am sharing it here: I changed (around lines number 508-510): $comment = eregi_replace("\n[ \t]+", "\n", trim($comment)); To: $comment = preg_replace("\n[ \t]i", "\n", trim($comment)); it seems to work fine. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Tweaked-AMFPHP-for-PHP-5.3-%28eregi_replace-issue%29-tp25278864p25278864.html Sent from the amfphp-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi, I am just trying out Flex3 and AMFPHP. When trying mapping objects and sending objects from Flex to AMFPHP with a mapping vo, I got the following error: faultCode "Client.Error.DeliveryInDoubt" faultDetail "Channel disconnected before an acknowledgement was received" faultString "Channel disconnected" My Service: under dir services <?php include_once("vo/User.php"); class UserService{ public function createUser(User $user){ return $user->username; } } ?> My VO: under dir services/vo: <?php class User { var $id; var $username; var $email; var $_explicitType = "vo.User"; } ?> My AS Class: package vo { [RemoteClass(alias="vo.User")] [Bindable] public class User { // CLASS VARIABLES public var id:String; public var username:String; public var email:String; // CONSTRUCTOR function User():void {} } } My MXML main part: <mx:RemoteObject id="UserService" source="UserService" destination="amfphp" fault="faultHandler(event)" showBusyCursor="true"> <mx:method name="createUser" result="createUserResult(event)" /> </mx:RemoteObject> public function onCreate():void{ var theUser:User = new User(); theUser.email = email.text; theUser.username = username.text; UserService.createUser(theUser); } when the submit button is pressed, "onCreate" is fired... Anyone has idea, where I've made the mistake which will cause the "Channel disconnected" error....because it all works fine with sending simple data, like a string. But when trying sending mapping objects to amfphp... this error occurs. It's haunting me... Thanks very much. In this upcoming version, a significant new set of features are being introduced to accelerate creation of data-centric applications with PHP on the server-side leveraging Zend Framework and Zend AMF. Prior to the public Beta later in the year, Adobe would like to invite a select group of PHP developers into a private pre-release program for Flex Builder. You¹ll get to work with the new data-centric development features, interact with members of the product team, provide feedback, and generally help shape the future of the product. No prior experience with Flex is necessary; in fact feedback from new users would be particularly helpful. There is a brief survey here - please complete it and Adobe will send an invitation to you shortly. I have pushed patches to bugs over the last year. Those same people want to know licensing, stability, patch Managment, unit tests and code coverage. Something not possible with the existing code. Sometimes you have to take a step back before you can move forward. If you use flex you live flex builder 4 and the integrated workflow.
