guessing from virus notification I receive from AMaViS 0.2.x
installations it seems those releases are still in use by several
As the former AMaViS 0.2.1 maintainer I'd like to remind you the AMaViS
0.2.x development was discontinued in July, 16th 2001 .
Since then, the AMaViS 0.1.x/0.2.x versions are in "security
maintenance" mode only, i.e. we provide only patches/updates
in case of a security vulnerabilty which affects the AMaViS
code itself and/or offer workarounds via our AMaViS Security
Announcements. This will stop effectively on August, 1st 2004 (3 years
after the development has been discontinued and 3 months from now on).
In other words: AMaViS 0.1.x / 0.2.x will not be supported anymore even
if it's security related!
Therefore, we *strongly* encourage you to upgrade to amavis 0.3.x,
amavisd (maintained by Lars Hecking), amavisd-new (maintained by
Mark Martinec) or amavis-ng (maintained by Hilko Bengen) as soon
Thank you very much for your co-operation.
